About Us

History

The Victorian Obedience Dog Club was founded in 1937. It was the first all-breeds dog training club to be affiliated with the controlling body, the Kennel Control Council of Victoria.

Aims

The club has qualified instructors who have obtained Victorian Canine Association licences. Our team of very experienced trainers, all volunteers, promote responsible dog ownership by teaching owners how to train their dogs to become well-mannered and happy companions. The club also focuses on teaching safe handling of dogs and appropriate conduct around them.

Our baby puppy classes, designed to be both informative and fun, are held indoors in a safe, friendly environment. In addition to learning to socialise, the puppies gain confidence by negotiating an obstacle course. Owners are taught both basic obedience techniques and how to care for their new puppies.
